The People’s Seed program is dedicated to supporting the development of a sustainable and equitable food system in Jamaica and beyond. Despite the increasing demand for organic seeds and planting material in Jamaica, access to these resources can be limited. That's why we have established a collaborative, participatory seed breeding program to help address this issue.
Our program focuses on providing high-quality, non-GMO seeds to local farmers and community organizations, helping them to grow their own food using natural and sustainable methods. We also offer education and resources on organic farming practices, helping farmers to improve their yields and reduce their reliance on synthetic inputs.
Our work is not only about increasing access to seeds, but also about supporting food security and addressing the challenges of climate change. By promoting sustainable farming practices, we hope to contribute to the resilience and self-sufficiency of local communities in the face of these challenges.
